Straumar Details
The Straumar junction pool is approximately 1 km long with six marked pools, but the whole beat can be described as almost one continuous fishable run. Most of the fish hold at the junction where the Hvita glacial water and the clear water flowing from the Nordura river meet.

The Straumar is a two rod beat and fishing can be arranged for one or more days at a time. Fishing is permitted for up to 12 hours per day, from 7 am to 1 pm and again from 4 pm to 10 pm. From August 15th the afternoon fishing hours are from 3 pm to 9 pm.
On the first day of fishing anglers may arrive at the lodge at 2:30 pm. Up on departure anglers are kindly asked to leave no later than 1 pm. The Straumar junction pool is fly only but from August 1st spinning is also allowed. Please familiarize your self with fishing rules upon arrival.

Black and Red Francis, Collie Dog, Black Sheep, Sunray Shadow, cone heads and tube flies.
Recommended Tackle
Single-handed rods, floating lines and double-handed rods.
